After leaving school I completed a two year Diploma in Building Studies.  I then started a management training scheme with the Llewellyn group of companies in 1989, completing work in different departments including Surveying, contracts management, and site management and estimating before specialising in the surveying department.

Whilst working in these departments, I also completed a Higher National Certificate in Building Studies and Chartered Institute Building Exams. In the last twenty years have worked on many and varied projects from new build, shop fitting and refurbishment for Private sector clients, commercial clients and public sector bodies. Therefore bring a varied experience to any project that I work on.

In 2007 while working for Rok Building Ltd the opportunity to run a division of company was possible and took this opportunity to grow the business from a £2m to a £4m business by 2010 with a good local reputation. I have also under taken various training courses including, Health and safety, Site Management, and other Industry based required qualifications.

As you can see I bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to Cornerstone which enables us to provide you, our client, with a solid professional and quality service for any of your future projects.

On leaving school in 1971 I attended Hastings College of Further Education and completed a 2 year OND course in Building Construction leading to employment with Walter Llewellyn and Sons Ltd. as a management trainee.

My education continued by completing an HND course, whilst obtaining a grounding in all the various disciplines of a Main Contractors. From estimating, surveying and site management, on many housing sites, utilising the Quickbuild method of system build housing, along with traditionally built flats offices and other commercial premises.

In 1980 I was seconded to the Plumbing and Heating Department where I remained for more than 20 years. Honing my skills from estimating and winning work, carrying out heating, services and sanitary pipework design, procuring materials, managing our technical workforce and producing final accounts and invoices. Finally rising to managing the department.

In 2002 Llewellyn’s were taken over by Rok Building Ltd. and I became a Project Manager completing numerous, extensions and refurbishment contracts for schools, hospitals and our long standing list of local clients. Again taking projects from there conception through to completion, along with day to day general building works, maintenance and emergencies.

The importance of health and safety is now paramount in our industry and I have been trained and hold certificates in first aid, scaffold inspection and production of risk assessments etc.

All the foregoing wealth of experience and expertise can be brought to bear on any future project large or small that Cornerstone may be honoured with.

After leaving school I commenced a 3 year Painting and Decorating apprenticeship with Walter Llewellyn and Sons Ltd and gained a pass with distinction and was awarded the Philcox Cup. I went on to gain experience in estimating and managed many contracts for them.

With this solid and professional grounding I started my own Painting and Decorating Company in 1986 employing a professional workforce providing a quality service and built up a strong client base.

In 2002 I decided to bring my extensive knowledge and man-management skills to ROK Building Ltd as a Project Manager. Over the next 8 years I gained a wider and more varied experience in managing many interesting and challenging building projects whilst adding to my knowledge by undertaking various training courses including, Health and safety, Site Management, First Aid and other Industry based required qualifications.

As you can see I bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to Cornerstone which enables us to provide you, our client, with a professional and quality service for any of your future projects.
